The Klik Foundation visited Microsol's offices and the homes of program users to see firsthand the impacts generated by the improved cookstoves.

On Friday, March 14, Microsol received representatives from Stiftung Klimaschutz und CO2-Kompensation KliK (KliK Foundation) of Switzerland, one of the funding organizations of the Tuki Wasi Program, at its offices in Peru. Given the recent approval of the National Registry of GHG Mitigation Measures (RENAMI) by the Peruvian Ministry of Environment (MINAM), the visit was made with the objective of coordinating the progress and next steps for the Tuki Wasi Program, which operates under the mechanism of Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMO) thanks to the bilateral agreement between Peru and Switzerland, under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement.

In addition, the representatives of the foundation, together with the president and co founder of Microsol Arthut Laurente and one of our local partners, were able to visit some users of the Tuki Wasi Program in Cajamarca, having the opportunity to see firsthand the positive impact that improved cookstoves have on the lives of families, such as the reduction of exposure to polluting gases and the efficiency in preparing food, which results in less cooking time and less firewood consumption.

On March 19, the Embassy of Switzerland and MINAM organized the executive breakfast “Peru and Switzerland: Climate action for the implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement”, with the aim of explaining the importance of the roles that both countries are playing jointly in the fight against climate change in the framework of the bilateral agreement they hold. The event was attended by the Swiss Ambassador, Paul Garnier, Berioska Quispe, General Director of Climate Change and Desertification of MINAM, Andrea Thurner, Carbon Procurement Manager at the KliK Foundation, project managers, among others. Our general manager Yanna Gruel participated in this meeting, where she was able to exchange experiences with climate action leaders who are promoting different initiatives to contribute to the objectives of the Paris Agreement and the fight against climate change.
