Through the Technical Committee for Standardization on Clean Cookstoves and Cooking Solutions, the organization endeavors to facilitate the appropriate application of processes and methodologies of programs involving these technologies across the country.
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, the third session of the Technical Standardization Committee (CTN) 127, "Clean Cookstoves and Cookstove Solutions," was held by the National Institute of Quality (INACAL PERU). The session aimed to continue reviewing and implementing national regulations regarding improved cookstoves. Microsol has been part of this committee since 2023 and participated in this session in person, with Susan Bazalar (Carbon Certification Project Coordinator) and Pamela Castro (ITMO Program Coordinator) representing the company.
CTN 127 aims to promote clean cooking technologies, particularly in regions without access to sustainable energy sources. The committee seeks to improve the quality and efficiency of these technologies by developing and applying technical standards aligned with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) system. This ensures the correct implementation of clean cooking technologies nationwide.
Microsol is a social enterprise that operates two improved cookstove programs in Peru: the Qori Q’oncha Program in the Voluntary Carbon Market and the Tuki Wasi Program under the International Transferred Mitigation Results mechanism within the framework of Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement. Microsol has been a member of the committee since 2023.
In addition to actively participating in the sessions, Microsol has collaborated on the preparation of the Peruvian Technical Report, "RTP-ISO-TR 19915:2024 Clean Stoves and Clean Cooking Solutions: Guide for Social Impact Assessment." 1st Edition,” published earlier this year.
Currently, the Microsol team is developing the "Proposal for the Adoption of ISO 19869 Regarding the Field Evaluation of Cookstoves," which demonstrates the organization's commitment to sharing experiences, knowledge, and lessons learned to strengthen initiatives that contribute to the country's sustainability.
